Decided to try Crabby Joe's for the first time. (Guelph) There were 1 child, 4 adults. When ordering for my 9 year old, I had pointed on the kids menu that she wanted the cheese pizza and for .99 extra you can have a ceasar salad instead of garden. We all got our meal, my daughter recieved this nice size salad with her little pizza. I asked the waitress if this was the kids meal salad, it seems quite big for a kid. She says "yes it is". We were baffled but hey, she said that was the one. We recieved the bill and I noticed the kids meal had an extra charge of $8.99 for a ceasar salad. When our waitress came over for payment I mentioned this to her, that this was the kids meal and the salad was added by mistake. She was very rude about it and loud saying that I misread the kids menu. There is no salad with pizza. (Though there is a star at the bottom stating substitude fries for garden salad or ceasar for .99 more. She got louder and louder, so I said I get it, but I asked the other waitress that served the salad if she was sure this was the kids menu salad. Our "real" waitress continued to cut me off and tell me I was wrong on the fine print. I said that is fine, but you are taking this off our bill. (nicely for she was causing a scene that was quite embarrassing to us)She said "no I am not taking it off the bill". I again mentioned that I would not have spent 8.99 extra for a girl that is 9 years old that ordered from the kids menu of (5.99) So she stomped off to the back. Came back 10 min later to say we can knock it down to a "side salad price" I said fine whatever. Needless to say she did not recieve a tip for "her attitude" In my opinion if she wasent so loud and obnoxious cutting my words off etc she would have recieved a tip. Wont be back to that location. Needless to say my daughters drink was 3.00 on top of the (pop included in the drinks menu)
If you add this up a 5.99 kids menu would have cost us 18.00 plus tax.. hm. False advertising or a company that just prefers to mess up on the bill for extra profit?
